gareth pugh, SHOWstudio.
gareth pugh is a genius! i love the use of symmetry in this video and the fact the models against a white background so the garment is the vocal point of the shot however including graphics and subtle highlights of color to add depth and interest to the video..
i like the choreography of the video as well as she draws the viewer in with her artistic movements and at the same time shows how the clothes move on the body. I like the music as well as it makes the video really intense and keeps you transfixed.
blue orchid..
i love this video! it reminds me of the johnny blue eyes stuff with the abstract nature and amazing styling! i love how all the people look slightly insane aswell which draws the viewer in, the zoom in's on the shoes and the garments make it really fashion based aswell whilst still telling the story..
the same place as us?
i found this link http://havepenwonttravel.com/woods/
it's someone who's gone to take pictures of the place we were at. i did search for st margaret's but this came up instead. it's defintaely teh same place because of the house, but alot of the buildings look really different. also, she's found other things that we haven't. i don't know if they've been knocked down or anything but her pictures show there's another house (not the one where you drive in) that's all burnt out at the top. and also, she said she's found an old primary school that was abandoned in 1988 or something like that. i don't know if that's where the construction site is now?

st margarets + house of blue eyes..
hey, those pictures that bekki posted are really cool, maybe we could go look? it looks like the fence around the outsides been knocked down and if it's more run down than it was before, maybe it still is? we could probably get in, and that would be pretty amazing - it's got an upstairs as well.
and also, the house of blue eyes video was really interesting. i think maybe we should do something like that, with music going all the way through and maybe only bits of us talking, maybe over the white noise? i'm still not sure that the talking's going to work that well

I found some images of the "Great Barr Idiot Colony" (a rather horrible name used for St Margret's Hospital back in the day) from 2006. The link is at the bottom of the page but I grabbed a few images out. The different between what it was even 4 years ago is crazy in comparison to what it is now; it's pretty much unrecognisable. It would be great to have a map and find out where this all was in comparison to what is left now...
